I am a mystery shopper too!.  To get started, I called an 800 number that I found in the paper.  They wanted $25 dollars to get started.  I was curious and had to try it out for myself and to share my experiences.  I got information in the email and a website to log in to.  The site provided some small training and required you to participate in two test mystery shopping tasks.  I performed the tasks, and as a result I was ready to apply to the many mystery shopper sites they provided for me.  I got the best results from:

Mystery Shoppers is the Company who you sign up with and Sassie Shop is the shopper engine.  I was thrilled when I got my first check – $11 dollars for evaluating a Dell Kiosk in my mall!

You select your locale and then will be emailed shopper tasks that are in your area.  Some of the tasks you may apply for may be evaluating parking garages, parking lot cleanliness, service at local restaurant, bank teller service.  It is very fun and I found that many of the tasks was something I was doing anyway.  Each task is about $10 or $11 dollars to start out, but as you build a good reputation, you will be chosen for more involved tasks and earn more cash.

Things to know…..you should not have to pay any money like I did.  You can bypass these offers and go right to the mystery shopping sites and submit an application.  Do I think I was “ripped off” or “scammed?”  Not really because they did offer training, practice shopping tasks and gave me a list of great sites offering the service.  Just make sure it is a one time fee for this kind of service if you are interested in that route and write down the list of sites they provide to you.  Good Luck, have fun.
