Learn from my experiences, funny and entertaining

Dorothy had recently contacted me to help her setup up her Mac computer so she can begin marketing her business online.  She was helpless and needed a lot of consultation and ideas as to how to make the transition to the internet as smooth as possible.  Dorothy previously made a great living without computers and no internet by relying on her down line and obtaining leads through word of mouth.  She is a  great motivator and really believes in her product. Great ingredients for success.

When I pulled up to her beautiful home in Sayville, New York for her consultation,  I could see she was living luxuriously.  The first thing I noticed was her BMW and behind it , a beautiful home, inside was no different and she admitted to me that she has been enjoying the last few years traveling a lot and relaxing.  She explained to me that she attended many seminars, held parties at her home, and recruited a huge down line that she could basically live off of.  The problem was her down line was starting to dwindle and she had to do something different to maintain her income.

I showed her the many aspects of the internet and how she can market her product on line.  She was amazed and astonished to see another successful distributor in her company appear on the first page of Google.  He had his own web page in addition to his company page, advertised on Google adwords and was in Yahoo groups.

I think I helped Dorothy realize how she could greatly improve her business and become successful if she were to use the internet.  A good internet presence is essential to any business because you can attract a broader audience.  She now has email setup and is starting to develop her own web page.  She may be new to the internet but she has great experience from the years of  running her business the old fashioned way, which many do not have.    I think Dorothy has the best of both worlds and can use this new knowledge to her advantage.  She will be very successful.

It is always better to focus on one project and complete it rather than keep multiple projects open.  This is the case if you are doing all of this work by yourself or trying to save money.  The truth is trying to take on too many projects at once will often result in failure or be extremely difficult to finish.  The reasons are as follows:

If you work on a few tasks at once, it is very difficult to keep track of what you have worked on especially if you don’t document your work.

There is also a tendency to work on the more desirable projects for whatever reason, while leaving the other ones behind.

It is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel when you work on many projects at once and it will become too overwhelming and cause you to be discouraged.

Things you can do to try and complete all of your projects is to read up on time management and scheduling.   Set a schedule for your projects and divide the work evenly.  You will find that you can accomplish so much more, while helping to bring each task closer to the finish line.

You have to utilize a lot of discipline.  It is very easy to become distracted while working on tasks you may not be motivated to complete.  Stay focused, read up on industry news and check out your competitors.  This will boost your interest again and keep you motivated.

In summary, try not to get too overwhelmed by taking on too many projects.  It is always best to focus on one project and dedicate all of your time to it if you think it is worthy. Taking on too many projects at once will be difficult to manage especially if you have limited resources.  Best of luck!
